$8M+ Paid in Apparent Bidding War for 141 East 72nd Street Co-op
An 11-room, 4 or 5 bedroom full floor co-op apartment on the 14th floor of 141 East 72nd Street just sold for $8,025,000 on the Upper East Side. The co-op’s closing price was $525,000 more than the $7.5M list price.
According to New York City records, the sellers were Lehman Brothers Managing Director John R. Wickham and Charlotte Wickham. The buyers are pediatrician Carrie A. Quinn and her husband James C. Parsons, a hedge fund executive at Viking Global Investors.
Maintenance for this pet-friendly pre-war co-op is $7,147 per month. The apartment boasts two fireplaces. Although the enormous kitchen overlooks the building’s rear courtyard, it is chock full of all the fancy kitchen appliances that an $8 million apartment should have: 2 dishwashers, a Thermador Professional stove, convection oven and microwave, along with a Sub-Zero refrigerator and wine cooler.
Corcoran broker Julia Cahill had the exclusive for the listing.
The co-op is located on the northeast corner of Lexington Avenue and East 72nd Street.
