Baron Eric de Rothschild and Wife Buy Village Co-op Penthouse
Baron Eric Alain de Rothschild and his wife Maria Beatrice Caracciolo y Cascone just bought a Greenwich Village penthouse co-op apartment at 40 West 12th Street for the tidy sum of $1.15 million.
A member of the Rothschild family, the renowned French banking and vintner family, he spearheaded Château Lafite Rothschild’s winemaking acquisitions by Domaines Baron de Rothschild over the last three decades.
According to New York City public records, the seller was Edwin ‘Ed’ Burstell, the Senior Vice President and General Merchandise Manager at Bergdorf Goodman, Manhattan’s très chic boutique owned by the Neiman Marcus Group.
Neighbors in the building include Kazuko Benedict, the former Chairman and Co-Founder of Zoologic, part of a Bankers Trust start-up called BT Ventures and Fiona Jane Tilley.
