VC Sells Upper East Side Co-op To Vintage Fashion Maven Tiffany Dubin
Jean-Francois Astier sold his family’s Upper East Side ninth floor co-op apartment at 29 East 64th Street this week to fashion maven and New York socialite Tiffany Dubin.
That keeps her within easy walking distance of her job overseeing Lair, the vintage boutique inside Henri Bendel at 57th and Fifth.
In her recent divorce settlement from real estate mogul Louis Dubin, Tiffany snagged the ex-couple’s 5th floor apartments (two!) for $2.3 million last summer. Louis heads Athena, a private real estate investment, operating and development company.
Dubin is also the step-daughter of another real estate tycoon (and convicted felon!) — ousted former Sotheby’s exec A. Alfred Taubman.
Despite having been on the market since 2006 for $3.35 million, the 2550 sq.ft., 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment finally sold to Dubin this week for $3.4 million — $50k more than the original asking price. Two years ago, the co-op apartment’s maintenance was $3,657 per month. But if you really need to ask, you wouldn’t want to live here.
Although Corcoran broker Lauren Muss had the listing in 2006, her web profile does not currently list the co-op among her deals.
Astier is an investment banker and Managing Director at Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners where he is Head of Gaming & Lodging Leveraged Finance.
His wife Jackie Astier is a well-known stylist and socialite on New York’s Upper East Side. The leggy blond is also a doting mother of two young daughters.
