$2.1 Million Paid for Upper East Side Co-op by Yoga Entrepreneur, Jeans Magnate
A Bikram Yoga entrepreneur in New York City and the owner of a downtown jeans emporium just paid $2.1 million for a co-op apartment at 360 East 72nd Street.
Dona Rubin Matlin, founder of Bikram Yoga NYC, and her husband, Elliot Matlin, owner of OMG Jeans were, according to New York City public records, the new owners of the apartment.
Rubin Matlin trained as a ballerina in Canada and New York City before dancing and singing in musical theater productions. Then she got bitten by the yoga bug, and opened the first certified Bikram Yoga franchises in New York City.
There is a ‘bonus’ you get at this building that many other co-ops don’t have: shareholders’ monthly maintenance fees include the cost of your gas, electricity, air conditioning, and cable usage.
