Upper East Side Coop in Yorkville Sells for $3.785 Million
Stéphane Dujarric de la Rivière and Ilaria Quadrani paid $3,785,000 on Friday for a 14th floor cooperative apartment at 520 East 86th Street in Manhattan.
Dujarric (inset, right) is the Deputy Communications Director for United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. He previously served as spokesperson for former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan from July 1, 2005 to 31 December 31, 2006. Dujarric also worked for nearly a decade as a producer for ABC News. Ilaria Quadrani a private art dealer who concentrates on master prints. The couple have been married for more than twelve years.
They bought the coop from William Vrattos and Heather Rosbe Vrattos. The sellers moved to another coop at 340 East 72nd Street. Built in the 1930’s, their 16-floor cooperative is managed by Brown Harris Stevens..
William Vrattos (inset, left) works in the money business for York Capital Management. York claims that their team is “better, smarter or more informed than the market in general” by exploiting “pockets of inefficiency” to earn “superior risk adjusted returns independent of the overall market.”
It appears that the Vrattos’ may have done quite well on the $3.785 million sale of their coop. A recent listing of a huge 7-bedroom apartment in their new building was offered for $2.975 million by Corcoran powerbroker Sharon Baum, nearly $1 million less than the apartment they sold to Dujarric and Quadrani.
